Rustproof your car in a day?

  • First of all, is it possible to rustproof a car in a day?
  • We pressure wash the underside of your car with huge pressure and vast amounts of water.
  • Surely this would prevent us from applying a coating? Won't moisture get trapped underneath the coating?
  • This may well be a problem for competitors who do not have our equipment and experience.
  • There are a variety of ways we can dry your vehicle:
    1. With compressed air. I have invested in the biggest, baddest air compressor I could find. This allows me to get most of the water off the underside very quickly.
    2. On a hot summer's day the vehicle will dry out very quickly. The trick to quick air drying is to get the vehicle very clean. Air dries a clean underbody much faster than a dirty one.
If we have not managed to get the vehicle absolutely dry in a short time with air drying there are two more alternatives available:
    3. Spraying with a water dispersant
    4. Using a powerful, propane powered heater.
  • As a side note, there is a hoary old myth trotted out again and again on forums that “waxoyl traps moisture”. This is the exact opposite of the truth. Waxoyl (and my “Before 'n After improved waxoyl” and my CR coating do not trap moisture. Although we take great care to get the vehicle absolutely bone dry, waxoyl (and my derivatives) disperse and dispel moisture. See the water dispersion tests that I did with various rustproofing materials and published in a ad in LRO. (I have put a PDF of the ad in the left hand side panel which will be visible if you are using a desktop or laptop.)
  • We don’t need 3 days to do your vehicle, unlike would be competitors because we don’t need to faff around “degreasing” the underside so the useless rust converter will stick and then another day for it to set. Our CR coating is a petrochemical like engine oil or grease (the original rustproofing) and any traces of it will simply be combined with the CR coating. We don't need to faff aournd with needle guns and wire brushes because my pressure washer blasts the rust off perfectly well. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. We have given thousands of guarantees since 2002 (when we started to give the guarantees) and I can count the number of claims to re-treat under the guantee since then on the fingers of one hand and even then they were very rusty vehicles to start with.
  • I’ve heard a lot of claims about dinitrol. Like “dinitrol penetrates 10 times better than waxoyl”. Or is it 100 times or 1,000 times better? I can’t remember. Or “waxoyl traps moisture”. See my water dispersion tests with all the various rustproofing oils and waxes.
  • Is dinitrol any good? What I do know is that no “dinitrol approved centres” give any kind of guarantee.
